Kottappara

Kottappara is a viewpoint located on the Vannappuram-Mullaringad route in the Idukki district of Kerala, South India. It is nearly 28 km from Kothamangalam in the Thodupuzha Taluk of Idukki district. It is positioned at a distance of 25 km from Muvattupuzha, 20 km from Thodupuzha, and 28 km from Kothamangalam.

Even though we have seen a lot of snowy mornings, the view from Kottappara will amaze the tourists. Viewers will have to admit that this is the most magnificent view they have ever seen. Let us assume that this place is a nature lover's paradise. If you travel three kilometers from Vannappuram, you will be shown the way to Kottappara by the locals. This view is only available in the dawn. If you want to see it, you have to reach before 7 in the morning.

The travelers should go by bus or preferably hire a jeep from there. The tourists depend upon the roadsides due to the unavailability of parking spaces near the viewpoint. There are no other facilities and security arrangements available at Kottappara now. Due to the lack of necessary infrastructure, tourists often camp here at night. But only in the morning, you can fully absorb the natural beauty that is visible.
